SCAPULA (shoulder blade)

This piece continues the SILVA – “the Forest” series, where I place the two last entries in this blog. It also starts the cycle of “remnants”, as they will be made with pieces of material left behind after cutting or trimming.

SCAPULA ( shoulder blades ) is the assemblage of such two pieces of wood mended together with steel wire ( 14″ x 11″ ).

Stylistically, the method is the same: a recognizable depiction and an ideographic monochromatic counterpart.

As always, words and images developed together. You can read “Scapula” in the the Words chapter of the blog.

  1. I find your constant combination of words and images to be valuable. Shows more than one perspective: the images tend to be defined and precise and the words more emotional and elusive.
